International Field Research Fellowships

Beginning in January 2013, the MacMillan Center will provide up to $20,000 each for eight doctoral field research recruitment packages to support Yale’s efforts to attract the best possible Ph.D. students who plan to focus their work in international, comparative and area studies fields. The program is modeled on the MacMillan Center’s highly successful annual doctoral field research competition. The Chairs of the Area Studies Councils and a committee of internationalist faculty appointed by the MacMillan Center Director will allocate the awards each year to the best candidates for admission as proposed by the competing departments, primarily in the social sciences and humanities.
