Joseph and Chaudhury Join Center

George Joseph

There are two new additions to the MacMillan Center staff. George Joseph has been appointed the Deputy Director and Rahima Chaudhury joins as Associate Director. George replaces Nancy Ruther, who is leaving the MacMillan Center after 26 years of commendable service to pursue other endeavors. George will oversee the academic programs, as well as the Center’s visiting scholars and the Fox International Fellowship program, in addition to communications and IT. George recently served as Director for International Relations and Leadership Programs in Yale’s Office of International Affairs. He supported the University’s engagement, strategy, and visibility across Asia and the Middle East by working with deans, directors, and faculty. He also supervised OIA support to the University’s activities in Africa, Europe, and Latin America, and oversees the development and the delivery of leadership programs for academia, government, and civil society convened by Yale’s faculty and schools. In George’s new role at MacMillan, he will retain responsibility at OIA for South Asia, particularly working with donors and families of prospective students, both areas where he has been tremendously successful over the last decade. George joined Yale’s administration in September 2003. In his first administrative positions at Yale, he served in the Yale College Dean’s Office promoting international opportunities to first-year and sophomore students, and in the Yale Center for International and Area Studies (YCIAS, the precursor to the MacMillan Center) managing the newly established South Asian Studies Council.

In her new role at the MacMillan Center as Associate Director, Rahima will manage the financial and human resources administrative operations. She replaces Sandra Nuhn, who has been at Yale for the past 37 years, including nearly five years at the MacMillan Center. Rahima recently served as a Financial Portfolio Analyst in Yale Shared Services. Prior to that she was an Accountant/Assistant Administrator from 1999 to 2003, and then Director of Finance at the MacMillan Center from 2003 to 2009. Rahima started at Yale in 1997 as an Accountant in the Neurology Department and Anesthesiology Department.
